As a Senior
Programmer Analyst, maintained and enhanced major Distribution
Management System written in PowerBuilder with Sybase as back-end. System was developed
over 5 years and involved over 25 programmer-years of effort. Implemented corporate
intranet using ActiveX control for navigation and incorporated content from various
departments and user g roups into overall structure for usability.
As a Systems Analyst/Programmer Team Leader, supervised a team of 3 programmers in the development of major systems in a client/server environment. Managed normalization and design of data repository as firm's scattered data resources were migrated to single client server platform. Formulated and established standards for database column names and variable naming conventions for programmers.
Front-end tools used:
Microsfot Visual Studio: ported PowerBuilder application to ASP using Sybase back-end
PowerBuilder: over 4 years experience in versions 2 through 5
Visual Basic: several small apps in 4.0, trained in 5.0 (VBITS '97)
Delphi: evaluated, dabbled, went to training, firm did not adopt
Starbuck (PowerSoft Java tool) worked with beta release product.
Excel: several forays into VB for Applications via Excel
Installed, configured and managed the following servers:
Microsoft Information Server: ASP and Front Page extensions
Sybase 4.x on AIX: from setup through production
NT SQL Server: setup, administration, replication, backup
Sybase System 10 and System 11 on NT: as above
Informix on HP/UX
