Among your obligations toward other Muslims is to deal with them with the best and most appropriate manners and character. The Prophet (sas) said:

From Abi Dharr: The Prophet (sas) said to me, "Beware of Allah wherever you are and follow up any bad deed with a good one to wipe it out and act toward others with excellent character."
This means that you interact with each of them in the manner most appropriate to that individual. For if you used an approach of knowledge with the ignorant or the way of fiqh to the frivolous or logical proofs to those lacking comprehension you will only annoy them and annoy yourself.
A Muslim must have respect and reverence for the knowledgeable and leaders in the din and compassion for children and all others in need of compassion and protection. The Prophet (sas) said:

From Ibn Abbas who said that Allah's Messenger (sas) said: "Whoever failed to have compassion for our little ones and reverence for our elders and to command what is right and prohibit what is wrong is not one of us."
A Muslim should always be with others a person of easygoing character and with a friendly face, to fulfill all promises and commitments to them and to only deal with them in the manner which he or she would like others to deal with them. The Prophet (sas) said:

From Abi Dharr: The Prophet (sas) said to me: "Do not underestimate anything among the good deeds, even if it is only to meet your brother with a friendly face."
Al-Hassan Al-Basriy said: Allah communicated to Adam four words and said, "In them is the totality of your affair and that of your children. One is for me, one is for you, one is between you and I and one is between you and other people. The one for me is that you worship me and associate nothing with me. The one for you is that I will reward your actions in the way most needed by you. The one between you and I is that upon you is supplication (du'a) and upon me is answering (ijaaba). As for the one between you and other people, it is that you must be with them in the manner in which you would love for them to be with you.
A Muslim must always strive to maintain and restore good relations between Muslims. The Prophet (sas) said:

From Abi Ad-Dardaa who said that Allah's Messenger said: "Should I not inform you of something on a superior level to fasting, praying and giving alms?" They said, "Yes!" He (sas) said, "Good relations between you for bad relations between you is the destroyer."
Whoever pondered the way in which Allah conceals the misdeeds of His slaves should take an example from his gentleness (and hasten always to conceal the faults of his brother). We are all in need, after all, of the concealing by Allah of our bad deeds on the day we go before Him. The Prophet (sas) said:

"Every Muslim is the brother of every other Muslim. He does not oppress him nor turn him over to any enemy. Allah is always occupied with the needs of one who is occupied with the needs of his brother. For whoever relieves another Muslim of some distress, Allah will relieve him of one of the distresses on Qiyama. And for whoever conceals the fault of another Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults on Qiyama."
A muslim should always avoid any questionable situations such being seen in a questionable place or with the wrong people. This is both to protect oneself from falling into wrongdoing but also to protect the hearts of the Muslims from thinking bad of you and their tongues from falling into backbiting. Observe the Prophet's (sas) care for this issue in the following:

Safiya áп`POST http://web-g.ks) reported that she went to visit the Prophet (sas) while he (sas) was in seclusion (i'tikaaf) in the masjid during the last ten nights of Ramadhan. She spoke with him (sas) for a while and then got up to leave. The Prophet (sas) got up with her to escort her back. When they reached the door of the masjid at the door of Umm Salama, two men from the Ansaar passed and gave the greeting to Allah's Messenger (sas). He (sas) said to them, "Slowly, she is none other than Safiya bint Huyayy." They said, Subhaana Allah, O Messenger of Allah." And that weighed very heavily upon them. Then the Prophet (sas) said to them, "Verily, shaitaan reaches to man as close as his own blood and I feared that he may cast something into your hearts."
A Muslim should make intercession (shafa'a) for anyone who needs such help to get their needs met. If you have some influence or familiarity with someone in authority and can help another get his legitimate needs met, then it is your duty toward them to do so. There can be no intercession in that which is haraam nor any intercession for clemency in one of the boundary punishments (hudood) of Allah Most High. Allah said:

From Aisha (ra) that Quraish was concerned about the affair of the Makhzoomiya woman who committed theft. They said, who will speak to Allah's Messenger (sas) regarding her. And some of them said, Who better for this than Usama ibn Zaid, the beloved of Allah's Messenger (sas). So Usama spoke to him (sas) and he said, "Do you intercede regarding a boundary among the boundaries of Allah?!" Then he (sas) stood and began a speech (khutba) and said, "Those who came before you were only destroyed because when a noble one among them stole, the left them but when the weak among them did likewise they enacted the prescribed punishment upon them. By Allah! If Fatimah the daughter of Muhammad were to steal, I would cut off her hand."
Among the rights of the Muslims are that you should always begin with salaam before addressing them. And handshaking is from the sunnah.
